Clayton Stone is a fine art and mixed media artist from Scottsdale, Arizona. He has been showcased in SEA Island (2020) and This Time Around (2020) as well as Anthropocene (2019). His focus is on editorial, portraits, photojournalism and still life. His work has a new vintage tonality as he captures timeless design and contemporary compositions.
In his early years, he pursued athletics from the age of 5. Going on to Predominately compete in running, triathlon and cycling events at an elite level. At age 15, his career in cycling took off as he was asked to race for the US National cycling time throughout Europe. At the time, he also worked as a Brand Ambassador for Rapha, holding and participating in events for them around the US.
In 2016, he got recruited to the Savannah College of Art & Design Cycling Team. He then went on to ride and compete for their Equestrian team as well, which is well regarded as number one in the country. This was also the time in which he found a love and passion for the arts. Initially majoring in Fashion design, and fibers, it wasn’t until late in 2017, he was introduced the beautiful side of analog photography whilst in Hong Kong.
Since, Clayton has pursued the photographic medium. He enjoys using alternative process to print his images and uses his wide skill set to enhance his paintings and drawings, and occasionally combine them. Graduating SCAD with a BFA, he strives to continue his art and vision for others to enjoy.
